fertility

Chances are, you know someone or will know someone that is struggling with infertility. The rate of infertility in North America is about 1 in the 6 couples and chances are there may be people in your family, in your workplace, and in your friend group struggling with starting a family. After years of working with fertility, it is still surprises me to hear what patients have to deal with from seemingly well-intentioned co-workers, family, or friends.

Spring is finally here! Well, at least in theory. Winter clothes get banished to the back of the closet and our favorite summer t shirts, shorts and flipflops emerge to see the light of day. Unfortunately, your beloved flimsy, airy, and innocent looking footwear has been darkly scheming and conspiring all winter against you.

Over the years, the web has gained content seemingly exponentially. While it's wonderful to have all of this information at your fingertips, sometimes it can be a chore to sift through the multitude of health and wellness sites. I've compiled a short list of blogs/podcasts (in no particular order) I follow regularly below. Some of these blogs/sites have only small elements that I follow or pay attention to, while others offer a greater appeal with regards to content.

The Year of the Sheep - the first day of the Chinese New Year - begins later this week on February 19th.  In China, the celebrations are known as the Spring Festival, a 15-day-long observance that includes feasts, family reunions, the conspicuous use of the colour red and culminates on the final day with a lantern festival.

The Chinese new year is rich with traditions, one of which is to associate each new year with a specific animal. There are 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac, and trends for the coming year are predicted to align with the traits of that year's animal.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Over the past several months I have added dozens of house plants to our home. In large part, this was to decorate the interior. The plants are luscious, healthy and beautiful. They are wonderful additions to the aesthetic of our home. As well as enhancing the beauty of the spaces they inhabit, house plants are associated with a number of therapeutic benefits.
