Julia attended the University of British Columbia for her undergraduate education and then completed the four year program to become a Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Canadian College of Oriental Medicine in Victoria, BC.
Julia is also proud to be a fellow on the American Board of Oriental and Reproductive Medicine, and one of two FABORM certified practitioners in Victoria, BC.
She enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions but has a special interest in treating women’s health issues such as PCOS, endometriosis, infertility and pregnancy as well as digestive disorders. She also has a special focus in treating male fertility, in order to facilitate natural conception or to optimize outcomes for Assisted Reproductive Techniques such as IUI and IVF.
Julia has completed specialized TCM courses in Fertility and Pregnancy from notable practitioners such as Jane Lyttleton, Debra Betts, Brandon Horne, Wendy Yu, and Chris Axelrad. She has also completed courses for fertility in Western Medicine with Dr. Paul Magarelli and Dr. Ashim Kumar and enjoys learning about many modalities of integrated medicine.
Aside from acupuncture and herbs, Julia loves using diet therapy to empower patients to increase their quality of life and help facilitate wellness.
When not at work, Julia is usually cooking up a storm with her partner Shane, or laughing at her Boston Terriers, Cherry & Scarlett.
In accordance with provincial regulation, all therapists at the Elements of Health Centre are licensed and in good standing with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturists (CTCMA) or College of Massage Therapists.
