Acupressure for Labour
Proactive Labour Support (3:00-4:00pm)
A practical 60-minute, hands-on class to learn acupressure for comfort and support in labour. You’ll receive a manual for practice at home and a concise brochure for easy day-of reference.
Learn to:
- Locate and apply key acupressure points to help reduce the pain of contractions.
- Time and adjust pressure across different stages of labour.
- Coordinate touch with breath and positioning for grounding support.
These easy-to-use techniques support a positive labour experience and encourage close partner/support-person involvement. They also help encourage steady progress through labour.
Preparing & Caring for Postpartum Mental Health (4:00-4:15pm)
Perinatal health challenges affect many new parents. This 15-minute discussion will touch on common stressors after baby arrives and why early recognition and responses matter. Learn practical strategies for postpartum mental health care, and discover helping resources within yourself, your family, and our community. We will be joined by a representative of the McGee Therapy Clinic and CRD Perinatal Counselling Network to lead this important conversation.

Feedback from past participants
“We did the birth prep points every night. Very helpful, we found that we had great chats while practicing the points.”
“It helped me focus on the labour and getting through it instead of dreading the next contraction.”
“The acupressure worked wonders for me during labour! We didn’t have this knowledge with our first born. Both labours were back labour and the contractions were much more tolerable this time using the acupressure…my contractions were much more bearable.”
